The Fabulous 4’s set off for what turned out to be one of their closest games to date, away against Brentwood 4. First half both teams settled into a midfield battle neither side really dominating the game however Brentwood manged to break away and secured their first goal, taking the match to 1-0 at half time.
Second half was a battle of alternating goals. Lesley first, with a solid strike straight in goal from a penalty corner. Brentwood were quick to retaliate with another goal but that didn’t stop S&B. A slick cross from Sarah straight into Lesley’s stick, we soon brought the game to 2-2.
With just 5 minutes to full time and the ball stolen from S&B’s possession Brentwood drove the ball down the pitch. S&B’s defence just not quite able to deflect the powerful strike delivered by Brentwood from a penalty corner we finished the game with a loss of 3-2.
POM was a very close unanimous vote for our goalkeeper Lea who made some outstanding saves. It was a great game played by S&B who this season have so far played with 11 people, everyone working hard against teams with fresh legs.
