S&B 3’s, played away in a local derby against Southend 3’s winning 0-7 on a very windy Saturday. The black and pink army opened the scoring after 5 minutes with great play up the pitch between Neve and Karis, who skilfully passed the ball to Lora who calmly slotted the ball in. Southend battled against the wind in the first half, passing the ball around but each time it was intercepted by Georgina and the S&B defence, and sent straight back up to the forwards. 2 further goals followed with Ellie beating the keeper and POM Neve having dribbled round players slotting the ball into the right corner 0-3 at half time.
Luckily the rain held off but this time it was S&B battling against the wind. Southends goalie having injured herself just before the half time whistle had to retire but that didn’t stop the home team from starting strong and putting pressure on the away team, getting into the S&B goal to win a short. The away team quickly stopped any attempts on goal and having then run away with the ball managed to pass it to Kingy who scored her first of the game. S&B who gained confidence by the minute battered the away D, with amazing passing between Kris, Aileen and Neve, passing into the D where Ellie expertly executed the ball into the goal with a reverse tomahawk getting her second goal. Kingy then pounced on a loose ball in the D to make it 0-6. The S&B team continued to play so well as a team, keeping possession and passing the ball round to again batter the home goal line. A blue foot on the line stopping an away strike meant that the black and pink army were awarded a flick. Youngster Katie determined to get on the score sheet, stepped up to take the flick, scoring her first goal this season. The final whistle blew just before the rain started. 0-7 to the black and pink army who march on towards the top of the table.
