The Super 2’s travelled for an early morning push back with fellow newly promoted Bishop’s Stortford 6’s. With lots of player movement due to availability, the 2’s welcomed Georgina Swann, Ellie Turner and Kristina Drake from the 3’s and Lexi Harrison from the 4’s.

The 2’s started off brightly with some great attacking moves and switching of play from the midfielders of Neve, Kristina, Lois and Amy, ensuring the opposition had to defend stoutly, with Grace Wright finding her form floating between midfield and the strikers. Five minutes before half time S&B broke the deadlock with a sweeping move leading to a ball in the circle that Chloe King dispatched with aplomb. Deservedly 1-0 at half time.

The second half saw a quick goal two minutes after the break from S&B to go 2 nil up. The high press from the 2’s worked well and on this occasion it was Lois Reynolds who expertly intercepted the clearance to put a good ball into the circle. Lexi Harrison collected and drove to the line cutting the ball back to Amy whose shot was blocked but Ellie Turner was on hand to turn in the rebound. A hard fought 2-0 lead for S&B.

Unfortunately, the tired legs of the 2’s with only one sub took its toll whilst Bishop's Stortford rotated constantly. It wasn’t long before the opposition were back in it with a goal on 49 minutes. Some great defending by Mya Osman, Aimee Cole and Georgina Swann continued to keep S&B ahead until the 60th minute when Bishop’s Stortford’s pressure told and they scored an equaliser. The score was to remain at 2-2, although not before Georgina had made a magnificent goal line clearance…so good that she cheered herself :)
